Jamaican dancehall star Shenseea has once again found herself at the centre of luxury-car conversations, with reports circulating about a possible 2026 Lamborghini Urus SE purchase that could be worth more than KSh70 million.

The claim has attracted attention because Shenseea is no stranger to expensive cars. In fact, the Jamaican singer already made headlines in 2022 after buying a Lamborghini Urus, a purchase she described as the fulfilment of a dream she had carried for years. The connection between Shenseea and Lamborghini is not new.
In November 2022, the Jamaican artist showed off her Lamborghini Urus Graphite Capsule. Reports at the time placed the vehicle’s value at around Ksh 32.4 million at full market price. For Shenseea, however, the purchase appeared to mean more than simply adding an expensive vehicle to her garage. She shared her journey from having to walk miles to work, including while pregnant, to eventually being able to buy the luxury vehicle she had promised herself.
What makes the 2026 Lamborghini Urus SE special?
The Lamborghini Urus SE is not an ordinary luxury SUV. It is Lamborghini’s first plug-in hybrid version of the Urus and combines a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine with an electric motor. According to Lamborghini, the powertrain produces a combined 800 CV and 950 Nm of torque.
Those figures are enough to push the large SUV from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds. Its claimed top speed is 312 km/h. That means the Urus SE is capable of performance figures that would have been considered supercar territory not long ago. And unlike a conventional petrol-powered performance SUV, the Urus SE can also operate in electric mode. Lamborghini says its 25.9 kWh battery allows the vehicle to travel for more than 60 kilometres in electric mode.
A Lamborghini that mixes petrol power with electrification
The Urus SE represents an interesting direction for Lamborghini. The company has increasingly moved towards electrification while trying to maintain the performance and character associated with the Lamborghini name. The Urus SE uses its electric motor not only to reduce fuel consumption and emissions but also to add performance. The result is a vehicle that combines a twin-turbo V8 with electric assistance. That combination gives the SUV an enormous amount of power while allowing it to drive using electric power alone under suitable conditions.
Lamborghini has also highlighted the vehicle’s ability to deliver improved torque distribution and driving dynamics through its electronically controlled systems. In simple terms, this is an SUV designed to be luxurious, extremely fast and technologically advanced at the same time.
Could it really be worth more than KSh70 million?
The price attached to a Lamborghini Urus SE can vary significantly depending on the market, taxes, shipping costs and, perhaps most importantly, how the vehicle is specified.
The 2026 Urus SE has a US starting price in the region of US$280,000, approximatelyKsh 36.3 million according to Kelley Blue Book, while other listings can show different starting prices depending on configuration and market. Once a vehicle of this class is imported into Kenya, the final amount can rise substantially because of taxes, duties, shipping, registration and other costs.

There is also Lamborghini’s extensive personalisation programme. A buyer can specify different exterior colours, wheels, interior materials, carbon-fibre components and other options. For that reason, a figure above KSh70 million is not difficult to imagine for a highly specified example that has been imported into Kenya or another African market.
However, the exact price paid for any particular vehicle would depend on its specification and import circumstances.
Why the Shenseea story is attracting attention
Shenseea’s rise makes stories like this particularly interesting to fans. The artist has built an international career from Jamaica and has continued to expand beyond the traditional boundaries of dancehall. Her career has included collaborations with major international artists, while her music has reached audiences far beyond the Caribbean.
In 2026, she was also featured alongside Daddy Yankee on “Echo”, a song released as part of the official FIFA World Cup 2026 album. Her international profile makes luxury purchases involving her particularly likely to attract attention online.
And there is another reason the Lamborghini story resonates. Shenseea has previously spoken publicly about the distance between her earlier struggles and the life she eventually achieved. Her first Lamborghini purchase in 2022 was presented as a personal milestone and a reminder of how far she had come.
That contrast is arguably more interesting than the Lamborghini itself. A luxury SUV costing tens of millions of Kenyan shillings can look like pure celebrity extravagance from the outside. But Shenseea’s earlier account of her journey gives the purchase another dimension. The story is about ambition, entertainment, money and the rewards that can come after years of pursuing a career. Whether the latest reports about a 2026 Urus SE turn out to be accurate or not, Shenseea has already established a connection with the Lamborghini brand. And if she really has added the latest hybrid Urus to her collection, it would represent a significant upgrade in both technology and performance.
The bigger picture
The Lamborghini Urus SE is also a sign of where the luxury performance-car industry is heading. The days when electrification automatically meant sacrificing performance are disappearing. Cars such as the Urus SE are showing that manufacturers can combine electric technology with powerful internal-combustion engines to create vehicles that are both incredibly fast and more technologically sophisticated.
For celebrities such as Shenseea, these cars also serve another purpose. They become symbols of success. And for fans watching her journey from Jamaica to the international music scene, a Lamborghini can represent much more than four wheels and a massive price tag.
It can represent how far the journey has gone.
