The paternity controversy involving Kenyan musician Stevo Simple Boy, his former partner Brenda and former manager Geoffrey Machabe has taken another turn after Machabe reportedly demanded KSh10 million as a condition for undergoing a DNA test.
Machabe made the remarks during an interview with MBC TV Kenya, where he was questioned about renewed claims linking him to Brenda’s son, popularly known as Dragon Junior.
His response has once again drawn public attention to a dispute that has generated intense debate on social media, particularly following the release of DNA results that reportedly excluded Stevo as the child’s biological father.
According to reports published on October 31, Machabe was responding to a proposal involving KSh1 million to facilitate another DNA test. He dismissed that amount and challenged those interested in establishing the child’s paternity to raise KSh10 million instead.
In the interview, he reportedly said: “Toa 10 million na twende DNA ya kwenye unataka.”
Machabe also spoke about his business activities and claimed that his monthly earnings were not below KSh5 million. His comments have since attracted reactions, with Kenyans questioning whether the proposed DNA test will eventually take place.
How the DNA Controversy Started
The dispute began attracting widespread attention in September 2026 after Machabe, who previously managed Stevo Simple Boy, made claims suggesting that he had been romantically involved with Brenda during the period he worked with the musician.
Machabe’s statements during an interview on Oga Obinna’s Riba Show sparked speculation about the identity of Brenda’s child’s biological father.
The claims placed Stevo, Brenda and their family at the centre of public discussion. Machabe’s professional relationship with Stevo had already deteriorated, making the allegations even more controversial.
However, Brenda denied having a romantic relationship with Machabe, maintaining that their association was professional.
The former manager subsequently withdrew his earlier claims and issued an apology to Stevo, Brenda, their family and the musician’s supporters. In his September 18 statement, Machabe said the child was not his and expressed regret over his earlier remarks.
That apology appeared to offer some relief to the family, although the paternity debate continued circulating online.
Stevo’s DNA Results Changed the Conversation
The controversy took another significant turn in October when Stevo Simple Boy reportedly underwent a DNA paternity test to establish whether he was Dragon Junior’s biological father.
Reports published around October 20 indicated that the results excluded the musician as the child’s biological father.
The revelation was followed by an announcement that Stevo and Brenda had separated. The musician’s public reaction attracted sympathy from some supporters, while others debated the circumstances surrounding the relationship and the child’s paternity.
Brenda also responded to the controversy, disputing suggestions that she had deliberately misled Stevo. She reportedly maintained that he had known about the circumstances surrounding the child’s paternity before the latest public revelations.
The claims and counterclaims have continued to generate discussion, but the private circumstances of the family remain sensitive. The publicly reported results concerning Stevo should also be distinguished from any separate test that might involve Machabe.
2Mbili Had Earlier Offered to Pay for a DNA Test
Before Machabe’s latest KSh10 million demand, content creator 2Mbili had offered to finance a DNA test involving Stevo, the child and the former manager.
In September, 2Mbili publicly said he was willing to meet the costs of the procedure in an effort to settle the competing claims.
He also warned that legal action could follow if the outcome contradicted Machabe’s earlier allegations.
The offer introduced the possibility of an independently funded test, but the latest reports do not establish that a new test involving Machabe has been completed or officially arranged.
Machabe’s KSh10 million statement therefore represents a new condition raised during a media interview, rather than confirmation of a scheduled medical procedure.
Will Machabe Eventually Take the DNA Test?
The latest remarks have raised fresh questions about whether the parties will agree on a new test.
For a DNA test to provide meaningful evidence, the procedure would need to be conducted through a credible testing facility, with the relevant participants consenting and the samples properly identified and handled.
It would also be important to distinguish between a public challenge, a financial offer and an actual agreement to undergo testing.
Machabe has previously withdrawn his claim, saying he was not the child’s biological father. His latest willingness to undergo a test does not reverse that earlier statement or establish a different paternity outcome.
The family has also been subjected to considerable public attention, making respect for the child’s privacy particularly important.
Kenyans React as the Saga Returns to the Spotlight
Machabe’s KSh10 million demand has reopened a debate that many Kenyans thought had already reached its conclusion.
Some social media users are questioning why such a large amount is being demanded when the stated objective is to establish biological paternity. Others are calling for the matter to be handled privately rather than through public interviews and online exchanges.
There are also questions about whether the proposed test would genuinely settle the controversy or simply create another round of public disagreements.
For now, no publicly confirmed DNA result establishes Machabe as Dragon Junior’s biological father.
The latest development is therefore not a conclusion to the paternity dispute, but another chapter in a controversy involving public allegations, an apology, a reported DNA result and a fresh financial condition.
Whether Machabe and the other parties will eventually agree to another test remains to be seen.
